Camping

We just got back from our last camping trip before school starts back up. It was so nice and really green. We didn't have any neighbors by us so the kids could ride the 4-wheeler freely. We fished, hiked and relaxed.

This is the view from our camping spot...............

It didn't take long for the girls to find this cool mushroom..............
~*~
We parked the 4-wheeler next to the road and snuck up on some elk at a waterhole.......
~*~
There was a ton of them...............
~*~
Then we sat and watched them for a few minutes.........

Mimi learned to ride the 4-wheeler and rode in circles for hours. Taking anyone that would go for a ride.............

Ohhhh Yeahhh!!!!

The last couple of years that we have had a garden, we have had to roast our chili's on the grill and it takes FOREVER!!! We have been looking into buying a chili roaster but they are so dang expensive that it just hasn't happened. Well wouldn't you know..... Quinn spent the last two days building this AWESOME chili roaster himself! I am so proud of him... He can do anything!

Last week we took off for 2 nights in Salt Lake City, UT and 1 night in Evanston WY. We had a great time.

On our way there, we took a longer than normal route and headed towards Flagstaff. We turned at Winslow and headed to Leupp. From there we turned to go see Grand Falls. Which is suppose to be the largest waterfall in AZ. We drove and drove down a washboard dirt road to find NO water running through it! We did find a few puddles and a dead horse at the bottom of the canyon though.
~*~
Even without the water it was a pretty place to see.........

This poor horse was probably washed down the river..........

Instead of turning around, we took off down 60 miles of dirt road and came out in Cameron AZ.

Our next stop was at the bridge near Lee's Ferry. That was pretty neat. The kids wanted to spit on the people canoeing down the river. Don't worry... they didn't.

Condor #73 .........

After that we were on to Salt Lake. We had booked the 2 nights at Little America, but had booked the 2 nights on separate days. So we had to move rooms after the first night. The first night we were in a tower room and the second night was in a garden room. The only difference in my opinion was the size of the bathrooms and the second night there was not couch in the room.

There was a pool and Jacuzzi on the second floor. The kids liked this one better than the outdoor one.

~*~
Kids in the Jacuzzi (sorry it's so fuzzy. I took it with my cell phone)........

While we were there we rode the UTA which is Utah's light rail system. The UTA had a free zone, which happened to be the places we wanted to go. So that made it nice. We went to Temple Square and to Gateway Mall.

On our way to eat breakfast, the kids found this cool car parked out front of the lobby.........

~*~
While at Temple Square, we went to the Family History Center and found Elder Bradshaw who is from St. Johns.........

~*~
After Temple Square, we headed to Gateway Mall. Brycie saw this hat a Claire's.........

Next we had to find some fine cheese and meat. We found it at Tony Caputo's Market. We love fine cheese, but it is so expensive that we only buy it on vacation.

After two days in Salt Lake, we drove over to Evanston, WY for some visiting with Grammie and other relatives. We had a nice reunion at Bear River with lots of great food. The kids played in the river, caught crawdads and even enjoyed the annual scavenger hunt, where they received $5 from Uncle Mike.

All-Stars

Levi made the majors All-Star team this year and he had a great time. I can't remember the scores of the games, but they won, lost, won and lost. It was a double elimination tournament, so they were done after the second loss. Here are a few pictures..........

~*~

I had to get a few of him before the outfit got dirty.........

~*~

I promise he really is excited to play. He is just too cool to smile for the pictures (or maybe it's just the fact that I am making him take pictures?)..........

~*~

I am ready to cheer him on..............

~*~

Ready to play ball.............

Levi's team after their last loss................

Levi is not happy that I didn't get more pictures or film every game in it's entirety, but heck I was so nervous at every game it was all I could do to sit still in the stands. I can't imagine what I will be like by the time he is in HS.

Flashback Friday~

A few years ago when Levi was in the 3rd grade, he had surgery on his foot. He had one foot done and then other one was done a few months later. The second surgery was actually the day before his birthday (at the start of his 4th grade year). This is the first surgery.
